This holiday season, our ABLE Youth took pause in the hustle and bustle to give back to others. In November, ABLE Youth spent an evening filling packages with various items including non-perishable food and toiletries for those serving in the military. They wrapped books and games to be included in the packages along with hand-written Christmas cards. A short video was also made to wish those serving a very Merry Christmas. In December, the youth delivered Christmas gifts and dinner to three families. Enjoy these photos of our youth in action!

ABLE Austin travels to Dixon, TX for Harvey Flood Relief
ABLE Austin volunteers traveled to Dickenson, Texas to help with Hurricane Harvey flood relief. A huge thank you to all who dropped off donations! ABLE Austin reached their goal that included a U-Haul trailer full of much needed items!
ABLE Youth Send Love to Hurricane Harvey Victims
Able Youth met last week to make blankets for the Hurricane Harvey victims. The youth also donated stuffed animals and wrote meaningful notes to the families affected by the hurricane. What a beautiful and touching gesture from our young volunteers!
Eat at Puccini’s on 9/26
On Tuesday, September 26 Puccini’s in Chevy Chase will donate 20% of all profits to the ABLE Jamaica Mission Trip! Plan to eat a delicious meal (dine-in AND carry-out included!) with your friends and family at Puccini’s. Don’t forget to tell your server you are eating for ABLE!

Report on Appalachia Mission Trip
Over the summer, seven adults and five youth traveled to Appalachia to assist with home repair projects.
ABLE’s main projects involved rebuilding a concrete step stone path down a hill and installing a handrail. Inside the home we attempted to repair a leaking fiber glass shower by layering on cloth reinforced fiber glass and coating the area with two layers of epoxy coating. Our other project involved making repairs to termite damage at an older home by removing and replacing damaged walls and underpinning in two areas.
Several ABLE volunteers also worked at the St Vincent Mission in David, KY arranging merchandise in the store, remodeling office space and cleaning the Volunteer House.

Low Country Boil Success
In August, friends of ABLE gathered to enjoy food, friends and fun to raise money for the 2018 Jamaica Mission Trip! The Low Country Boil was a tremendous success with nearly 80 people gathering to raise money for the Mustard Seed Community in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Enjoy some pictures from this beautiful night with great friends supporting a great cause!
